Description

The 3.8 is the perfect choice for the Progressive Swimmer, who needs a boost in buoyancy. This wetsuit was designed with the goal of elevating the position of the triathlete in the water, with the most advanced buoyancy technologies on the market, Aerodome and Exo-cell; without compromising elasticity when it comes to swim strokes, with Yamamoto 40. The wetsuit you need to conquer the swimming portion.
Features

  • YAMAMOTO
  • The Yamamoto Corporation is the world’s main supplier of high performance neoprene. Its seal represents quality, technology and innovation.
  • 0.88 FREE
  • 0.88 Free technology has been developed together with Yamamoto exclusively for Orca, with the aim of producing the most elastic material available today. The construction of five layers of neoprene, combined with a warm, reflective titanium skin, is the secret to achieving the great thermal insulation of this lightweight material. The thinnest wetsuit on the market at only 0.5 mm thick, it combines the best lining with a layer of titanium to provide better thermal insulation. This revolutionary
  • CORE LATERAL STABILISER (CLS) WITH EXO-CELL
  • CLS is a panel made from Exo-cell that provides lateral rigidity on the abdomen to strengthen your core and thus prevent twisting. This technology helps you maintain an effective technique longer, raising your lower trunk for better performance, thanks to its 5-mm thick side Exo-cell panels that provide 25% more buoyancy than the Aerodome.
  • EXO-CELL
  • Exo-Cell is a unique sandwich-designed neoprene that provides over 25% more buoyancy than Aerodome. Panels of Exo-Cell are used in strategic panels on the Predator, Alpha and 3.8 to optimize swimming position.
  • 40 CELL
  • Yamamoto’s 40cell neoprene is the penultimate for flexibility, suppleness, fit and comfort. Second only to 44cell by the narrowest of margins and located in key high stretch areas on the Predator, Alpha and 3.8 suits, these panels contribute to providing a wetsuit swimming experience of the highest level.
  • NANO SCS
  • Super Composite Skin (SCS) has become the benchmark for coating the smoothskin neoprene used in triathlon wetsuits, to reduce friction and increase speed through the water. Orca uses Yamamoto Corporation’s latest Nano SCS for an even lower drag co-efficient, ensuring the fastest swim possible. The underwater co-efficient of dynamic friction of the Nano SCS is 0.026 in comparison to 4.0 of regular neoprene. Less friction = more speed!
  • HYDROLITE
  • The HydroLite panels help the wetsuit come off easier, for faster transitions. This technology, combined with the SCS coating, helps the water slide off your wetsuit, without permeating it, considerably improving your hydrodynamics.
  • INFINITY SKIN
  • The inner Infinity Skin lining provides the feeling of absolute freedom. Designed based on a high-elasticity nylon that incorporates bamboo fibres, this technology is applied to the lining of our wetsuits to offer you greater flexibility with each stroke. This cloth maintains body heat longer, reduces body odor and the appearance of bacteria in your wetsuit. It is also made from natural eco-friendly materials to prevent the appearance of skin irritation and care for the environment.
  • AERODOME 2
  • This new technology applied to the lower trunk area provides 30% greater buoyancy for swimmers. The secret lies in its composition: hundreds of cavities located between two layers of previously treated neoprene. Unlike the Exo-lift, the inner layer of this material is made up of a high-quality lining that gives the wetsuit greater elasticity. Orca uses this material in the areas with the greatest body weight to raise you up to an optimal position in the water.
  • HIGH ELBOW PANEL (HEP)
  • After conducting many biomechanical studies with athletes such as Richard Murray and the BMC team, High Elbow Panel (HEP) technology has been strategically placed on the arm, without limiting flexibility. This technology is used in the 3.8 and helps you to keep your elbow up with each stroke, providing you with more stability while swimming.

  • Most of us know what type of swimmer we are. But

  • how much importance do you place on this when you’re deciding what wetsuit to
  • buy? Fit and price is often what people think about,
  • but which suit is going to best suit your swimming needs and
  • so make the real difference to your performance is really important and can
  • often be overlooked!

  • Natural Swimmer – You are a streamlined, naturally

  • strong swimmer who has good body position and
  • technique so are looking for the most flexible suit around
  • to compliment this and make you even faster.

  • Total Swimmer - Swimmer

  • who lacks stabilization – You have the tendency to
  • roll too much during freestyle, particularly over long distances. You would be
  • able to go faster for longer and tire more slowly if you had a balanced
  • body position.

  • Progressive Swimmer - With a cyclist or runner physique,

  • you don’t necessarily carry the natural buoyancy in
  • your body that’s going to keep you in a good swimming position
  • – legs typically sink. You’d ideally prefer gender specific buoyancy and find
  • yourself having to kick a lot to keep your legs from creating drag when
  • swimming.

1 of 5 Terrible seam quality July 20, 2021
Reviewer: Rhonda from Amaranth, ON Canada
Thought I was upgrading to better quality. What a joke! Brand new and the seams on both arms are not glued properly and have multiple spots where the seam is open all the way through to the fuzzy inside fabric.
My 4 year old entry level Zoot wetsuit looks better than this Orca.
