Description

New for 2014, the ISHOF SaferSwimmer Float TPU is specifically designed to provide a safety aide for open water swimmers, serving three important functions without hindering performance or hindering your stroke. TPU is a high-performance polyester fabric that you see used to make products like flexible fuel tanks, inflatable boats and whitewater rafts.
Features
  • When considering personal safety and peace of mind for you and those who care about you consider the following advantages of this device:
  • 1) It makes you visible to boaters, jet skis, kite boarders or other potential human hazards while you are swimming;
  • 2) It can be used as a floatation device when you need it in the case of cramps, dizziness or injury and it can also be used to rescue others;
  • 3) It can also keep your “stuff” safe while your swimming or allows you to take along your “stuff” on one-way swims across rivers or lakes.
  • ISHOF’s SaferSwimmer™ Float comes in two sizes. While both will keep a grown adult buoyant the main differences between the SF-04 and SF-06 are that the SF-06 is able to carry more “stuff” and has a slightly higher profile in the water.
  • *A final point to consider. Unlike running, when a swimmer suffers a stroke, heart attack or unconsciousness you sink and disappear below the water.
  • Medium: 60X26 CM OR 23 x 10 IN
  • Large: 64X30 CM OR 25 x 12 IN
  • The TPU fabric is a brighter orange and is more durable than the PVC on our other products and is recommended for those who use their SaferSwimmer regularly or don’t take good care of them after their swim.
  • For waists over 38", we recommend using the SaferSwimmer Extension belt.

My second Safe Swimmer May 26, 2015
Reviewer: maritime swimmer from Rothesay, NB Canada
I use the safe swimmer in  1 km open water swims across Kennebecasis River which can get very choppy. Safe swimmer helps with visibility and provides a safety net if my swim partners asthma acts up . I have not used my new TPU Buoy but  TPU Material appears to be more durable than the regular safe swimmer and the valve is better.   (the ball valve leaked a little on my other one.) It is a little bigger  (large) than the one I have (medium) but not by much. I expected it to be bigger. Never-the-less it should be a good  investment.  Now both my swimming partner and I will be visible and I won't have to share by food stores when we reach the island.

Shipping and description December 22, 2014
Reviewer: Chantal from Montreal, QC Canada
Shipping was super fast even before Christmas.  The description of the product on the site was detailed enough to help me choose.  Didn't try it as I bought it as a gift.

Ties August 31, 2014
Reviewer: Joan McArthur-Blair from Stillwater Lake, NS Canada
The bouy is great but the harness attachments are faulty. The snaps and slides in two of the buoys have failed and we had to replace them which requires cutting the ties. Recommend that the ties not be glued and the snaps and slides and attachments are  stronger. I also bought a pair of fin socks that only lasted one swim before the seams failed. That said we like the buoys for visibility and safety.

Seems solid August 27, 2014
Reviewer: Jaimie from Toronto, ON Canada
Have used for a swim and it worked as advertised.  I might look to either lengthen the leash as my feet hit it from time to time.  Not a big deal and the visibility is worth it.
